Hey All,
These are my favorite mornings, when I wake up, have some coffee, and get back to crafting story. It's the portion of the creation process that is the most fun, a time when random thoughts can blossom into plot points or they can wither and die off. It's a place where the story can go anywhere. Everything in a story has to make sense, character development and plot points are intertwined, destined to collide with one another in a powerful scene. Who could imagine a better way to tell the story of Darth Vader and Luke in Empire Strikes Back? Vader sets a trap for Luke by capturing his friends, knowing that Luke will ultimately try to save them. Once he lures him in and defeats him in battle, Vader poses to Luke the question to join him in taking over the galaxy and reveals that he is his father. That is plot and that is character development happening simultaneously in an emotional climax. It's an exciting time in story when anything can happen, to get the plot and characters to a place where it can pay off for the reader/audience in a satisfying way. That is my goal. And that takes time. So today, I'm working on it. I'm sure some of my ideas will be lost on the page and forever be forgotten, but some of these thoughts will make it into the overall story of The Last Traveler. And maybe, I can help the scenes turn just as well as in Lucas's ESB. Thank You for the support! See you all next time. -TS
