Good Afternoon, Fellow Travelers!
Initially, I set out to do this first book sequentially, a series of chapters that would form one cohesive story that would release in a timely order. And while I still intend to do this, the timeline that I first thought of has become a bit different. After Alex makes it to a certain place at the end of Chapter One, the story opens wide, and I now see it is very important to have clear direction for his story moving forward and his goals (Otherwise he will just be walking around with random motivations and the story will tread water). In order to have a clear story, I need a firm idea of what the novel is about and where it is going. I have to know the character's motivations in and out, their desires, their fears, their loves. And this takes some time. So, before Chapter Two is released, I will have a full outline of what I want from the story and the characters. Don't be too alarmed though! A lot of this work is already done! There is a framework for The Last Traveler as a whole, it's just that certain details still need some ironing out so that it all makes sense. As a writer, I'm a planner. I'm not the kind of guy that just word vomits and crafts it into a story. With that said, The Last Traveler is still coming soon and Alex's adventure will continue! In the meantime, if you have already read Chapter One of The Last Traveler and can't get enough of this noob's writing ;-p , there is always MKULTRA or Horizon 616 to keep you company in the confines of your reading room. Check out my Twitter account, @author_tssmith, for tweets and interactions with fellow authors/readers. I hope you're all having a great day and will see you all next time! PS- What are you all reading? Let me know! I'm working my way through Thrawn: Alliances. -TS
