Hey All,
Good to see everyone on here. These past few weeks I have been in and out of writing, but not for lack of desire! I've been preoccupied with being a caretaker to my mom after a pretty intense summer of surgeries, the most recent being last Thursday. But I still have the story of Alex on my mind and I fully intend to get back to the rewrites as soon as possible. Hopefully, I'll be able to break into the story again today. The rewrite progress is slow but I really do want what I put out to push myself as a writer. One of the ways to do this, is to READ. Read often and consistently. Writing and literature was never my number one subject. In fact, it was math which is why I find myself as a professional engineer. But reading some Michael Crichton, I really do believe that scientific professionals can come up with some great stories with some high drama and give a different kind of spin to the fictional world. For me, to write better, I need to study, I need to practice. I need to read. I need to understand sentence structure and pacing and story elements. It's a brave new world but I continue to plunge into it because that is my desire: to create a story great enough that engages you, the constant reader. Looking forward to continuing our evolving relationship, drop me any questions if you are curious. You can contact me through direct message on twitter (@author_tssmith) if you have any questions about the writing process or any suggestions where you think I can be better. As always, thank you to all! -TS

Hey All,
I hope everyone is having a great night and working on some awesome projects. Whatever your passion is, think to yourself, you can be doing it right now. At this very moment. Just Do It! ( Cue Shia Labeouf). And so tonight, even though my eyes are heavier than an elephant, I am on my way to the new Starbucks that just opened up on the corner of Brea and Harbor. It's a nice, local cafe that I have been eager to try out and give a test run to, break in a bit. I have high hopes that it might become my new local neighborhood Starbucks as the store in downtown has a pretty poor parking situation. Spoilers ahead for The Last Traveler, for those of you who want to remain Traveler clean, don't read: Wouldn't it be interesting if Alex never left the world at all? ;-) -TS Alright Everyone,
So I know that there are some here that are patiently waiting for the next chapter of The Last Traveler to drop, and I promise it will happen. The chapter IS actually written but I'm in the process of rewriting/editing to get it right. I really feel this is an important part of the story in many ways. For one, Alex's motivations as well as those of the other characters (some not introduced yet, must be revealed so that they are clear. The second reason this chapter is important is that I really think it will set the tone, not only for this book, but the majority of the series I plan on writing. So to me, I really want to get this one right and I just need to spend some more time with it tinkering. I promise it is coming for you all and thank you for your patience. If anyone would like to throw in what they are reading or what they are interested in, email me. I'm really looking forward to hearing from you. If you want to check out my Twitter where I write more timely updates, check out my handle of @author_tssmith. See you all around, fellow travelers! Thank You. -TS Also, the name of the overall series is not given yet. It needs to ring, be simple, and be definitive. Still working on that too. |
